QUESTIONS?
What are the advantages of retaining Alliance's services? Our annual fee entitles you to services that are not considered medically necessary, and therefore not covered, by your insurance company. This means things like help with paperwork for assisted living and family leave applications, telephone consultations with family members, and travel advice. Please see Advantages. Is there a charge for joining? Yes; there is an annual fee. Visits are charged to your insurance company as usual. Certain services such as non-covered home visits may be billed at an hourly rate. Please call for details. Where is your office? We are conveniently located at 261 Upper Main Street in Edgartown, next to the bank. What if you don’t take my insurance? Not a problem. We will still see you, and you will be charged for the visit. We will provide you with a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We will be happy to assist you with this process. How do I get a prescription renewal? Simply request this online or by telephone, and we will send it to the pharmacy electronically. Please plan ahead so that you do not run out of your medicine, especially for mail orders. What if I am sick or have an urgent problem? Call us right away. Early in the day is best so we can see you or refer you in a timely fashion. I am healthy, why should I join your practice? Staying healthy sometimes requires advice and assistance from your doctor. Oftentimes healthy people have questions about nutrition, exercise, stress management, and preventing disease. We can provide personalized answers to these questions. Also, we are here for you in the event you do become ill. Do you have an electronic record? Yes; the office is fully electronic, including office notes, test results, and prescriptions. Can I communicate with you electronically? Yes; you can use secure email messaging to send a message anytime. We will respond within 24 hours in most cases. Please call if you need a same-day response. Will I be able to access my medical record? Yes; you will be provided access via the web and your own password. This will give you access anytime, anywhere.
